Pen Pals

I have a pen (keyboard?) pal – a lovely cat in Australia called Miss Stewy.  Oh, it’s so lovely to have a pen friend – she makes me feel so good and special.  We’ve been writing to each other every day – oooo it’s so exciting when I get a message from her.  Here’s a few photos of her – doesn’t she look just beautiful:

Wet Puppies & Halloween

It’s been raining most of today, but we didn’t notice it when we went out for our first walk today – after all, we did spend a fair amount of it swimming in the water (or looking for ways in / out).  We just love that place Mummy takes us for special occasions – so many exciting smells, ducks and birds everywhere, and lovely muddy water to swim in.  Zen even jumped in the water and then climbed up onto a fisherman’s little wooden platform – and then jumped from the platform back to land just to prove how agile he is.  We’re shattered now, but Mummy says it’s going to get dark much earlier today (why is that?) so we will have to go out for our 2nd walk soon.  But then we can have a whole evening of sleeping and cuddles.

Oh, we’re much wetter now – after our 2nd walk Mummy decided to give us all a bath to get rid of the smell of the river.  Now that’s just not fair!

Mummy has had loads of visitors this evening – and every time they call she gives them a treat.  Do you think if we go outside and make a noise she’ll give us a treat?  We’re trying to be really helpful and if Mummy doesn’t hear the doorbell (she’s doing the housework) then we tell her that there’s someone at the door – aren’t we good guard dogs…

Oh no, time for all claws to be cut.  Not fair.  Now, how can we get revenge?

I’m in Training for the Grand National!

Well, the vet may say that I’m not allowed to run too much, jump or do any agility, but what does he know?  I just love being a puppy, and a Springer puppy at that.

When Mummy saw me running towards her from the next field, with a 6ft wide ditch between us, she was worried that I’d plan to run down the ditch and up the other side as I’ve done so many times in the past, with the risk of landing heavily on my bad leg at the bottom if I didn’t get my stride just right.  So she stood in a position to try to slow me down and force me to take things steadily.  Silly Mummy, you needn’t have worried – I sailed straight over the top of it and landed right next to her (with an added bounce for good measure).  Mummy was so worried that it would have hurt my elbow, but I was fine for the rest of the walk.

Surprises Part 2

Happy Birthday Mummy!

We’ve found out what Mummy bought us to help celebrate her birthday – fluorescent coats for our early morning walks.  And these ones are quilted – as we have to be kept so thin and we don’t get to run around on our road walks Mummy took pity on us and ordered ones that have a quilted lining.  So now all those cars can see us as they approach us down those country roads.  We tried them out this morning, but there weren’t many cars around so we couldn’t see how effective they are.  But they are nice and warm…  We’ll try to get Mummy to post some photos of us in them…

Nose Bleeds

I’m sorry Mummy.  I didn’t mean to do it.  I hope it doesn’t hurt too much.

I was having so much fun playing with another dog in the fields this morning that I didn’t think when I went bounding back to Mummy – I jumped up at her with joy, but caught her nose with my teeth (and no, I didn’t bite her).  Oh dear, Mummy then proceeded to have a nose bleed in the middle of the field…  And she had to walk us home with her face covered in blood.  🙁

I was so careful on our second walk as I didn’t want to catch her nose again (or any other part of her).  I did have great fun chasing birds with my brother, though.  Now what was it the consultant said – I’m not allowed to chase rabbits, but don’t think he mentioned birds….

Surprises

It’s Mummy’s birthday soon and we’ve been trying to decide what to get her for her birthday. We don’t have much pocket money but would like to get her something special – any suggestions?

Mummy ordered us a pressie to help us celebrate her birthday yesterday but she won’t tell us what it is – what could it be?

A Man At Last?

Mummy caught me lifting my leg when I went to the toilet today – it’s the first time she’s seen me do that.  I didn’t lift it much – certainly not enough to leave my scent any higher than the top of a blade of grass – but it’s a start.  I’ve not seen Hal lift his leg yet – am I more of a man than him?

Hal was wearing his new elbow warmer on our walks today – he thought it made him a super dog and kept fighting with me.  But I don’t mind if it means he’s able to enjoy our walks together.
