Feeling very playful today – now what mischief can we get up to….
It’s been a lovely sunny day here today – meant that Mummy got a chance to take photos of our new skinny ears and body:
Mummy attacked us with the Furminator this evening – there was fur everywhere. She thought it was getting warm enough that we could lose our winter coat and just have our spring one. I must admit that I do feel better, and look so much skinnier as well.
Mummy gave us a bath today – we did wonder why as it’s not been that long since we last had a bath and we didn’t think we were particularly dirty (other than Casey going for a swim yesterday). But it all became clear this evening – Mummy cut all 68 of our claws and also trimmed our 8 ears. The Cavie’s ears are so much quicker to trim as the fur is all one length – with ours the fur has to be trimmed close to our ears all the way along. We’ll try to post some photos of our new look soon, but here are the “before” photos – Mummy let us grow our ears over the winter:
Sorry we’ve not updated our blog for a couple of months but it’s been a sad, hard and busy time for Mummy. We hope to be back here now, and Mummy says she’ll try to help us update the key points from the last two months.
We went round to Grandma’s again today to play with our cousins and go for a lovely walk in that nature reserve. We certainly did lots of running – at one point Mummy and Grandma complained that they’d set out with 6 dogs and they had none to keep them company as we were off exploring, but we kept going back to check on them so I don’t think they were too upset. Oh and what fun we had off exploring – all sorts of smells to investigate. I also found some lovely mess to have a roll in – I don’t think Mummy was too impressed, especially as it got all under my ears.
When we got back to Grandma’s, Mummy said it was bath for me – well, Grandma’s sink is even smaller than Mummy’s, but as it was only the front end that needed washing she got me to sit my back end on the side and my front paws in the sink, and then washed all round my ears.
We spent the evening recovering from our hectic day – here are a few photos of us (the rest can be seen in our photo album on our main site):
Mummy turned on our outside shower today for the first time since we had the really cold weather – she decided we needed a bath as we’d got rather muddy on our walk this morning. But when Mummy went back in the house she discovered a mini flood – one of the pipe joints had worked loose in the cold, and the pipe was leaking into the cupboards. Oh well, Mummy needed to give them a clean….
Oh the indignity of it – we got muddy on our walk this afternoon, and with no outside shower working at the moment what does Mummy do? – only squeezes us into the utility sink to wash our tummies, legs and paws. Mummy, we were never meant to be THAT small.
Here’s a couple of photos of us recovering afterwards:
