Winter Tyres Part II

Mummy had the winter tyres fitted to her car today – but the ones that were delivered were different to the ones that had been ordered.  Still, as they were the same size and supposedly more expensive, Mummy let them fit them – for the price that they’d quoted initially.  How kind of Mummy is that?  She said that the roads weren’t sufficiently cold on the way home to notice much difference, so she now wants it to snow again.

Drastic Action Required

It’s just so unfair – we tried our hardest to stop Mummy going to work today.  Shandy and Casey staged a sit-in in the study, Hal grabbed her hand in his teeth and wouldn’t let go, and I tried to get in the way of Mummy moving anywhere – but it just didn’t work.  We managed to delay Mummy enough to make her miss her train, but she still went to work and left us here.  How unfair is that?

Sick Little Puppy

We had another sleepover at Grandma’s last night, but I wasn’t very well.  I was sick several times and kept running outside and making Mummy come out to fetch me.  Mummy thought it was because Grandma’s house was so much warmer than we are used to, so she opened one of the windows in our bedroom to cool the room down – how many people have the window open when it’s -2C outside?

Mummy brought us home after a walk and breakfast, so that we can chill out in more ways than one and we’ve spent most of the day sleeping.  I’ve been so sleepy that I’ve not been following Mummy around everywhere, which is rather worrying when I wake up and I don’t know where Mummy is – time for me to start crying for Mummy….  We did get out for a walk this afternoon, but a more gentle one than normal.

On the way home Mummy called in at one of our favourite pet shops and got us some of those blue knobbly bones that we love but can’t get very often.  She said they’re from Great Auntie Joan and Great Uncle Ken – than you so much for them.

Sleepover and Acrobatics

As the weather was meant to be bad overnight, Mummy let us have a sleepover at Grandma’s.  How exciting…  Grandma did get up a couple of times in the night and we just had to check up on her.  And then I tried to help her tidy up once everyone got up and took her nightware into the computer room for her.

Gizzy went off chasing squirrels this afternoon, so Mummy sent the two of us to go and fetch him.  Oh, we had so much fun running in the wooded area around the outside of the field, with everyone watching us, wondering where we were going to appear from next.  And Zen was so funny – he went running into the woods at one point and ended up going base over apex.  He says he doesn’t have a clue what happened, but Mummy couldn’t stop laughing at him.  I kept reminding my clumsy brother about it for the rest of the walk – don’t think he was too amused.

Here’s a couple of photos of us relaxing after a rather energetic walk:

It’s Christmas!

And we’re off to Grandma’s to celebrate….

I think Mummy liked our present to her – it was snow chains for her shoes, so she can take us out in all weather, including snow and ice, without any risk of falling over.

We only got a few treats as we’d already had most of our Christmas presents (covers for the settee, fur covers for our beds and our fleece coats).  But we had great fun running round the nature reserve with our cousins, and then cuddling up with Mummy afterwards.

Chasing Amber

OK, maybe we weren’t chasing Amber, but she was running around with us whilst we were chasing all the little birds.  I don’t think she’d run that far or that fast before, but Hal kept an eye on her and made sure she returned whilst I was more concerned with all the birds I was chasing.

Mummy trimmed Casey’s paws and claws yesterday and finally got round to doing mine today, so now I’m all pretty like my brothers.  And Mummy says I was so good as I just laid there whilst she did it all – she says I was the best of all of us.

Naughty Boy

I think I’ve been a naughty boy this evening.  Mummy wanted to trim the fur between my paws (she says it will help with the snow, stopping little balls of snow forming) and cut my nails, but I ran out into the garden and wouldn’t come back in.  I was hoping she’d come out and collect me, and I’d put up a bit of a fight but then give in, but no, she just left me out there.  And instead she trimmed Hal’s and Shandy’s paws and claws – she says she’ll do Casey’s tomorrow.  Do you think she’s really angry with me and won’t now do my paws and claws?  I didn’t mean to be naughty.
